A very complicated surgery on the spine of a 10-day old child was successfully performed in Dr D Y Patil Hospital. In another instances, a tumor from a very crucial part of brain in a 40 year old man and a congenital discharging sinus in a 13 years old girl were operated on successfully. After through evaluation, it was noted that a discharging sinus was present on the back of this girl since birth. The MRI showed collection of pus in the spinal cord and misaligned nerve bundles. The doctors from the department of surgery conducted this difficult surgery successfully. The girls showed significant improvement after the surgery and has got the strength back in her legs.
