Dr. Sandeep Kadam (HOD Anesthesia Dept. ), Dr.Sanket Patil (Simulation Lab.incharge)and Dr.Suraj Deshmukh (SR.Ortho.dept) participated in this activity of First aid training at Kolhapur Airport on Wednesday 14/02/2024.

This training was attended by 25 members from Airport Fire rescue team, Electric rescue team and Mr. Anil Shinde -(Airport Director – Airports Authority of India), himself .Different topics covered were-First aid management of Fire injury, electric injury, snake bite, drowning, choking, allergy etc. Trauma management included…triage, splint application, cervical collar application, primary management of bleeding wound and shifting of the patient etc. was also taught .Hands on training for Cardiac arrest management (COLS)was the main highlight of training. The participants were very enthusiastic and had many queries ,which were addressed promptly. Mr. Anil Shinde (KOLHAPUR -Airport Director – Airports Authority of India ) has gave a very nice and positive feedback about this activity conducted by our D.Y. PATIL MEDICAL COLLEGE, SIMULATION DEPARTMENT. To-date “RED CROSS SOCIETY” is the official training authority for Airport personnel. Proud to mention D.Y.PATIL MEDICAL COLLEGE KOLHAPUR is the first private institute to get such permission to train the Airport personnel. Mr. Anil Shinde was very positive to conduct such activities regularly. Special thanks to Respected Dean Dr. Rakesh Sharma Sir to make this activity a reality.
